Canada Makes event to showcase Ptooling’s game-changing technology

PtoolingAs part of Canada Makes additive manufacturing forum series Ptooling is hosting an open house to introduce North America’s first DMG MORI Lasertec 65 3D

OTTAWA – Canada Makes is very excited to be partnering with Ptooling in hosting their Open House showcasing the launch DMG MORI’s Lasertec 65 3D on April 27 and 28th in Windsor-Essex County. This must-see event highlights the first North American instillation of this game-changing additive manufacturing technology.

LASERTEC 65 AdditiveManufacturing

DMG MORI’s all in one laser deposition welding and milling integrates for the first time additive manufacturing into a high-tech 5-axis milling machine. This innovative hybrid-solution combines the flexibility of the laser metal deposition process with the precision of the cutting process of a CNC milling machine.

“Canada Makes is excited to host this event,” said Frank Defalco, Manager of Canada Makes, “the leadership Ptooling has shown in adopting this new technology offers us the chance to view the future in action.”

This is the first machine of this magnitude to enter North America. It is the most advanced 5-axis milling machine in the world, providing a significant upgrade to Canadian industry capabilities. This new technology allows a faster production of complex geometries and individual 3D-parts not possible with conventional manufacturing processes.

Ptooling’s open house event will feature presentations from international guests speakers Dr. Gregory Hyatt, Senior Vice President, Chief Technical Officer, DMG MORI Advanced Solutions Inc. and Matthias Kuehnelt, from Hoedtke GmbH, both experts using the Lasertec 65 3D.

This free event is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in seeing a new way of manufacturing in action.
